Sporting Events & Golf
Altoona has a variety of sports and sport facilities for you to enjoy! We're home to the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, The Altoona Curve. Blair County is also home to many golf courses. Some are located within a country club, while others are located in the area's countryside. All welcome visitors.
Events
There are a number of Seasonal Events in Blair County throughout the year! Some of the highlights include the Allegheny Ukulele Soirée, Holiday Lights on the Lake at Lakemont Park, HoopsFest, and Zombietown USA, as well as two agricultural fairs. Our sports facilities feature many events as well.

There are a variety of art and cultural experiences to explore. Downtown Altoona is home to the Mishler Theatre, a Beaux-Arts Theatre listed on the National Register of Historic Places and home to the Altoona Symphony Orchestra. Things Unseen Theatre is a small theatre company producing shows at The Church in the Middle of the Block.

Altoona has a rich railroad heritage and is now home to many railroad attractions as well as a variety of cultural experiences. Downtown features the historical Mishler Theatre, a summer farmers market, a heritage center, and local treasures that include one of the town's local candy makers, Boyer Candy.
